My Mission

To use my communicative talents to build a better future by helping people become ethical and effective communicators.

My Story

I discovered my passion for communication as a three-time speech and debate state finalist in high school. My success earned a debate scholarship at Washburn University, where I was nationally ranked in 2007 and 2008. Naturally, I majored in Communication and loved my coursework.

Graduating with university and departmental honors, I chose the University of Iowa for graduate school in interpersonal communication. I studied impression management and persuasion under world-class scholars in the field. After completing my Ph.D., I decided to forgo the academic ivory tower for a year to use my expertise to help people.

I landed my first job as a career coach at a local career center where I helped over 300 job seekers get hired through my coaching and workshops. I earned my National Résumé Writing Certificate and studied under other professional résumé writers. With so much success in the career center, I saw opportunities to serve even more people. I then launched Daniel Alexander Career Communications in the summer of 2015.

After helping even more jobseekers and beginning my academic career, I started receiving invitations to speak about careers and communication for community and company events. These speaking engagements sparked a new interest in teaching effective communication skills outside of the college campus. I now offer custom workshops for companies that focus on improving employee communication. I also coach individuals seeking to become championship-level presenters and communicators.

I am also an Executive Assistant Professor at Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. I teach Business Communication for the MS and MBA programs. I love anything related to learning, creativity, exploring, and the beach.
